About The Wellington
The Wellington is a country pub on Main Road in Riding Mill, a few miles east of Corbridge along the A695. It is run by Chef & Brewer, part of Greene King. CAMRA says the building dates back to the 16th century, when it was known as a witches' meeting place, and describes it today as a food-led pub with several dining areas, candlelit tables and a weekly quiz for villagers.
The menu is traditional pub food, and on Sundays the pub serves roasts including slow-cooked rib of beef and a vegetarian mushroom Wellington, with food from 11.30am to 9pm. There is a large beer garden and parking, and CAMRA lists Bombardier and Greene King IPA among its cask ales. It holds a food hygiene rating of 5 (very good), last inspected in April 2026.
