The Pele

Micro bar inside the Vicar's Pele, a medieval fortified tower by St Andrew's Church, serving craft ales, wines, spirits, coffee and tea.

About The Pele

The Pele is a micro bar inside the Vicar's Pele, the fortified tower beside St Andrew's Church. The tower was built around 1300 for the Vicar of Corbridge and was lived in as a fortified vicarage until the early 17th century. It is a Grade I listed building and a scheduled monument.

The bar serves craft ales, wines and spirits alongside speciality coffees and teas. CAMRA lists two handpumps, mainly pouring local beers, and notes that it takes card payments only. The tower is available for private hire from Monday to Wednesday.
