St Andrew's Church, Corbridge

Grade I listed Church of England parish church in Corbridge Market Place, founded in the 670s, with a tower arch built from the stones of a Roman arch.

About St Andrew's Church, Corbridge

St Andrew's stands in the Market Place at the heart of Corbridge. The parish says Christians have worshipped on the site since about 670, when Saint Wilfrid founded a monastery here, and the church is first recorded in 786. The western porch was raised into a bell tower in the 11th century, and the tall arch between the tower and the nave is built from the stones of a single Roman arch. The building is Grade I listed.

Today it is the parish church of St Andrew's Corbridge with St Oswald, Halton and Newton Hall, and the vicar is the Revd Canon Dr David Kennedy. The church is open for private prayer from 9.30am to 4pm each day. Church life includes a choir, flower arrangers, church guides, Tea and Chat, a Women's Fellowship, pastoral visiting and a home group, and a Christmas Tree Festival is planned for 2026.
