Corbridge does not hold a big Christmas market of its own. Its independent shops, delis and galleries do much of the job through December, and within ten minutes' drive there are four fairs and markets with confirmed dates for 2026. This guide lists them in date order, with what to expect and how to get there.

For the rest of the season in the village, see our Christmas in Corbridge guide.

Brocksbushes Christmas Fayre: 12 to 15 November

The first and biggest is the Christmas Fayre at Brocksbushes, the farm shop just off the A69 a few minutes east of Corbridge. It runs for four days, from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November 2026, and has been held every year since 1998.

The fayre is held on the working farm, with four days of festive shopping, food and entertainment. Entry is by ticket, booked online through the Brocksbushes website, and parking on site is free. Check the website for session times before you go, as they vary across the four days.

Hexham Christmas Gift and Food Fair: 21 and 22 November

The following weekend, the Hexham Christmas Gift and Food Fair fills Wentworth Leisure Centre on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2026, 10am to 4pm. Entry is free, with a voluntary donation to the Great North Air Ambulance. The leisure centre has free parking.

Hexham Abbey Christmas Fair: 12 December

The busiest Christmas shopping day in the valley is the Christmas Fair at Hexham Abbey on Saturday 12 December 2026, 9am to 3pm, with stalls inside the Abbey and across the town centre. Hexham Farmers' Market is on the Market Place the same morning, so it is a good day for both gifts and food for the Christmas table.

Hexham fills up early on fair day. The train from Corbridge takes a few minutes and avoids the hunt for a parking space.

Hexham Farmers' Market: 19 December

The last Hexham Farmers' Market before Christmas is on Saturday 19 December 2026, 9am to 1.30pm, on the Market Place. It is the place to pick up meat, cheese, bread and vegetables from local producers for the big day, so go early for the best choice.

In the village: the Christmas Tree Festival and late-night shopping

Corbridge's own big festive week is the Christmas Tree Festival at St Andrew's Church, from Friday 4 to Tuesday 8 December 2026. It is not a market, but refreshments are served from 10am to 4pm, entry is free and it brings thousands of visitors into the village, so it is a good time to browse the shops.

The village has traditionally held a late-night shopping evening during festival week, with stalls, music and carol singers around the Market Place. No date had been announced for 2026 when we checked on 3 November, so check with the shops nearer the time.

For gift ideas the rest of the month, our guide to shopping in Corbridge covers the independent shops on Hill Street, Middle Street and around the Market Place.

Tips for market days

  • Bring some cash as well as a card, in case a small stallholder prefers it.
  • Take a strong bag or two for jars and bottles.
  • Daylight ends before 4pm in December, so plan to be home in good time if you are walking back along the river.
  • Dates and times can change. Check the organisers' websites before you set off.
