Dentists in and near Corbridge

Corbridge has two dental practices, both on Princes Street. Finding an NHS place is the hard part, as it is across much of Northumberland, so this guide also covers two practices in Hexham, about four miles west. NHS availability changes often. We've given the date each status was last confirmed on the NHS website, and you should always check with the practice before you register.

In Corbridge

Princes Street Dental Practice

Princes Street Dental Practice is in Hedley House, an 1803 stone building on Princes Street, and has been a dental surgery since 1967. It offers NHS and private care for the whole family, including check-ups, fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, root canal treatment and whitening. There is level access and a ground-floor treatment room, which you can ask for when you book.

On its NHS profile the practice said it was not accepting new NHS patients for routine dental care (last confirmed 14 September 2026). Registered patients should phone 01434 632164 for urgent appointments. It's open Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.30pm.

Corbridge Dental Practice

Corbridge Dental Practice is at 32 Princes Street. It is registered with the Care Quality Commission under its current provider and hasn't been inspected under that registration yet. We couldn't find an NHS profile for it, so phone 01434 633307 to ask whether it takes NHS patients and how to join its list.

In Hexham

Hencotes Dental Practice

Hencotes Dental Practice at 7 Hencotes is one of Hexham's longest-established practices and offers NHS and private treatment. On its NHS profile it said it was accepting new NHS patients for routine care, for adults, children aged 17 or under and adults entitled to free dental care (last confirmed 24 September 2026). It's open Monday to Friday, with a late evening until 7pm on Thursdays. Phone 01434 602227.

Hexham Dental Clinic

Hexham Dental Clinic on Battle Hill was established in 2007. Its treatments range from check-ups and hygiene to Invisalign, implants and whitening, and it offers membership plans for spreading the cost of private care. Phone 01434 603759.

Urgent dental care

If you have severe toothache, swelling or a dental injury, phone your own practice first. If you don't have a dentist, or it's out of hours, phone NHS 111, which can book you an urgent NHS dental appointment. Go to A&E only for heavy bleeding that won't stop, swelling that affects your breathing or your eye, or a serious injury to the face.

Best for: The NHS website's "Find a dentist" search shows which practices are taking new NHS patients and when they last updated it. Search by the NE45 postcode to see the nearest.

Tips

• Ask to join a waiting list. If a practice isn't taking NHS patients today, some will add you to a list.
• There's no catchment area for NHS dentists. You can register with any practice that has space, so Hexham, Ponteland or Newcastle are all options.
• NHS dental treatment is free for under-18s, for anyone who is pregnant or has had a baby in the last 12 months, and for people on certain benefits.
